500 years ago, a boy named Íñigo was born in the Basque region of Northern Spain. Owing to his noble lineage, he spent his early years in a modest castle, receiving a sound education and cultivating a taste for fine attire, social grace, and the valor of the battlefield.
Known for his gallant spirit, he regarded himself as a courageous soldier and a devoted admirer of beauty. Yet, while Íñigo of Loyola envisioned a life of worldly honor and conquest, divine providence had destined him for a far greater purpose.
